St. Charles Surgical Hospital Receives National Accreditation
Patient-centered processes inspected and validated

St. Charles Surgical Hospital (SCSH) has announced that is has achieved national accreditation from DNV Healthcare Inc. DNV Accreditation seamlessly introduces ISO 9001 quality methods into the hospital setting and accreditation means SCSH has demonstrated compliance with national standards for patient safety and quality of care.

“St. Charles Surgical Hospital is dedicated to exceptional patient care in a compassionate, patient-centered environment,” states Cheri Saltiformaggio, SCSH Chief Executive Officer. “By inviting DNV Healthcare into our facility we are able to validate our mission and goals with their survey results.” DNV hospital accreditation addresses the demands of quality-driven hospitals that are dedicated to patient-centered care. As part of the accreditation process, DNV surveyors track the care of patients across various departments and facilities of the St. Charles Surgical Hospital. “We are proud to accept the accreditation based on our high standards of care and welcome recommendations for further improvement,” continues Saltiformaggio. According to DNV, its accreditation services are unique because it uses the hospital’s own practices as the basis for written policies and procedures, so hospital administrators can determine areas of focus and write individualized action plans.

The SCSH opened in 2009 as the first and only hospital in the world dedicated to breast reconstruction for women facing breast cancer. Realizing a need to offer other surgical services they have been joined by other surgical specialists who share their vision for excellence in this special patient care arena.
